German-American artist Ali Eckert grew up within two cultures and has been strongly influenced by American imagery.

With his diffentiated view on America's culture and iconography Eckert's dives deep into its pop cultural.  He explores the threshold between narrative and reality.

Surfaces play an important role in Eckert’s art:  They constantly disguise more than they pretend to be.  His art is bold, but also detailed, playful and enigmatic.  Covered with clues, Eckert’s staged American sceneries give an ambiguous view.

Eckert‘s experience as a photographer and film director shines through in his art.  He captures all objects and sceneries through photography.

Eckert‘s unique analog process marries photography and painting. In his unique transfer process Eckert manually coats pigments onto canvas or aluminum. During the process he adds paint.

Eckert has received several international awards and is internationally collected (Sander Collection/Basel, Zagoras Collection/Athens and the Neumann-Hug Collection/St.Urban, German Art Fund Hungary, among others).

Eckert works with mixed media, film and photography in his studios in Berlin and Wisconsin.
